From the event’s program:
Encorus Group saw its beginnings as Robert J. Runge II Consulting Engineers in 1996, offering civil engineering services. In 2001, the firm was incorporated as RJR Engineering, P.C. Joseph M. Lowry III, PE, took the helm from Mr. Runge in 2011. Over the next several years, the firm grew by leaps and bounds. In 2016, the civil materials testing and inspection and mechanical integrity asset management groups were added to the firm’s capabilities. In August 2017, the firm’s name was changed to Encorus Group to better reflect the integration and fluid function of the firm’s three divisions. To serve our clients most efficiently, our multi-disciplinary staff now includes approximately 50 full-time employees in Springville and Buffalo. Encorus offers a wide variety of engineering design expertise, as well as mechanical integrity, civil materials testing, and non-destructive examination capabilities. Encorus is certified both federally and through New York State as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.
Having this range of services and staff available allows clients the convenience of a “one-stop shop” usually only found through larger companies. Encorus is able to provide support to our client throughout the entire life cycle of a project, from concept to construction to maintenance, and eventual decommissioning or adaptive reuse.
Major façade renovations were undertaken to the firm’s headquarters on Mechanic Street in Springville in 2017. Encorus staff members helped to design the project, utilizing historic photos and records to develop a look which fits in the with the historic character of other buildings in the area. The Springville office is home to Encorus’s design group and administrative staff, bringing approximately 20 people to Springville each day from towns such as Hamburg, East Aurora, Orchard Park, and Williamsville.
